The Family of Grace:
the gospel according to Titus

An older Jewish man, Paul, regarded a young gentile, Titus, as his “true child in a common faith” (Titus 1:4) because “the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people” (2:11).  All those elected by the Father (1:1), saved by the Son (1:4), and renewed by the Holy Spirit (3:5) are children in the family of grace.  The gospel of hope guides the church through her elders (1:5-9), rebukes the ungodly (1:10-16), calls us to love one another in purity and courage (2:1-15), and sets our hearts at peace so that we might be zealous for every good work (3:1-15).
