Short-Term Youth Missions Trip to Palmer Home

Who: Covenant Youth & Parents

Dates: Monday through Friday, June 18 – June 22, 2018

Cost: $100 to cover food and lodging for the week

What to Expect:

For those that went to Palmer Home last summer, we expect this summer’s trip to be similar. We’ll be joining a similar size team from the PCA church in Brewton, Alabama.

We’ll have a full week planned that includes working alongside youth from the orphanage, having combined devotionals and spending time playing with the younger children. We should know more about the work activities that we will be helping with as we get closer to departure, but we will likely be helping on projects in landscaping, painting, cleaning and working at their thrift store and greenhouses.

The work will be age appropriate for Jr. High and Sr. High youth. In addition to youth, we hope that some parents will be able to go with us this year.

Short-Term Missions Trip to Clarkston, Georgia.

campgoodneighbor

Who: Ages 18+

Dates: Monday through Friday, June 4-8, 2018

Cost: Still being determined, depending on lodging arrangements

Responsibilities:

Before arrival

Pray fervently. Gather an adult based team of around 10-12 people from your church (anyone motivated and responsible high schoolers can participate though we require a higher adult ratio).

For those of you who are local, we will be offering a cross-cultural ministry training in April (date TBD) that we ask you to attend.

During camp

You will oversee a structured 3 hour time with the children. This time will be divided into:

[1] Bible story time (you will be given a curriculum ahead of time that you can prepare and adapt), [2] Crafts, [3] Academics, and [4] Outdoor recreation

After these activities, you will be asked to feed the children a lunch that you will provide.

You can then spend time in the community after camp. There is a well-maintained community pool you can swim in. There is also a field where you can play sports. We have soccer equipment, hula hoops, jump ropes, chalk, bubbles, watersports, etc. You can visit families in their homes or prayer walk. Perhaps you might want to eat at local ethnic eateries, tour a mosque or temple, visit the Clarkston community center, or support the local economy by visiting the Refugee Sewing Society or drinking something at Refuge Coffee.

After camp

Friday is a free day. There are many interesting things to do in Clarkston and the Atlanta area. Pack up and return home.

Continue to pray for our team and those you ministered to in Clarkston. Engage the lost in your neighborhood.

What is a Faith Promise donation?

A Faith Promise donation is a commitment to support, through regular giving or a one time gift, missionaries and missions work specifically.

The missionaries and organizations we support depend on our congregation’s monthly financial giving to help them continue the work that God has called them to do. This support is given through our church budget.

Occasionally our missionaries have special “one time” needs. Your gifts to “Faith Promise” enable us to help when a special need arises. Faith Promise donations are also used to send new missionaries to the field and to assist with short-term mission trips and missions partnerships.
